This is really a choice that if you use your head it just does not make any sense to continue with your smoking habit at all. By fabricating a plan and following it and by knowing what you are going to get as a payoff for stopping this habit you will inspire hope yourself and remind your own self even when you are tempted that the payoff is so much more for breaking the habit than to carry on with a way of life that is costing you dearly both financially and health wise.

I never thought I would be able to stop my smoking addiction. It seemed like I was always waiting until the pressure in my life was at a minimum to begin to stop and of course that just never seemed to happen. I used my smoking as an anxiety reliever and I just didn't know what to compensate it with. I was hesitant of gaining weight and it seemed like every time I stopped smoking or even attempted smoking control, I replaced my smoking with eating and as soon as I saw a weight gain over five pound I was once again smoking.

It wasn't simple but I started some smoking control by replacing other activities and habits for times when I would usually smoke. When I decided that I had to quit the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my determination to smoke or to stop. Otherwise what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to maintaining my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking habit makes the decision to continue one you cant really argue for in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you love.

After I made my list I hung this list up on my shower mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted everyday to see my motivation for changing my behavior this helped a lot since quitting smoking is a decision one has to make everyday. Whenever you stop smoking you have to presume there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I slipped and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.

If I saw the scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to rearrange eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I by and large wouldn't do for myself. When I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette use always goes down. I will not say that I don't think about smoking from time to time and more than likely always will but I also remind myself that what you save is both money and health. Your clothes don't stink of smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the money you would have used for punching cigarettes into a saving account and watch it grow.
